My heart leaps up when I behold

A rainbow in the sky

So was it when my life began

So is it now I am a man

So be it when I shall glow old,

 

Or let me die!

The child is father of the Man

And I could wish my days to be

Bound each by natural piety

 

무지개

 

하늘의 무지개를 볼 때마다

내 가슴 설레느니,

나 어린 시절에 그러했고

다 자란 오늘에도 매한가지.

쉰 예순에도 그러지 못하다면

 

차라리 죽음이 나리라.

어린이는 어른의 아버지

바라보니 나의 하루하루가

자연의 믿음에 매어지고자.
